Rev. James Jeyaraj and Rev. Selvan Jeyaraj are the pastors of Bethel Methodist Church
Rev. James Jayakumar – Senior Pastor
Born in Ooty, Tamilnadu and brought up in World Mission to Children (WMC) Hoskote, Karnataka, Rev James Jayakumar responded to the Lord’s call for a full time ministry in the year 1981 worked with Operation Mobilization (OM) India with the role of a Team Leader. He also Worked on OM Dolous Ship ministry for 6 months as an Indian minister. He was also on board in various places like Mumbai, Mangalore, Vizag and Kolkata.
He has undergone Theological Training as Bachelor of Theology (B. Th) at South India Biblical Seminary at Bangarpet, affiliated to Senate of Serampur in 1989 – 1991. Later , he upgraded with Higher education Bachelor of Divinity (B.D) at Madhya Pradesh Leonard Theological College, Jabalpur, affiliated to Senate of Serampur in 2000 – 2002. He has also completed Master of Arts in English M.A.
He was ordained in the Methodist Church of India in 1992 and has been working with Methodist Church In India (BRC) since 1991-present. Since joining the South India Regional Conference of the Methodist Church in India in 1991 he has worked in various places as Pastor in:
- St. Paul’s Methodist Church, Bangalore
- Methodist Church Wadi, Wadi (Jn), Gulbarga District,Karnataka
- Calvary Methodist Church, Mysore
- Served The Lord in Goa John Wesley Methodist Church, Ponda & Francis Asbury Methodist Church, Margao, Goa
- Emmanuel Methodist Church, Raichur
- Christ Central Methodist Church, Gulbarga
- Gokak Falls Methodist Church, Gokak District
- … and other places across Karnataka.
He has also Undergone a course of inter-denominational Churches Cell Ministries Network (CCMN) and Co-Ordinating the Mission Network and Developments program held at Hong Kong, China, was representing Indian Missions.
He has also served as a District Superintendent in Bangalore Regional Conference
Currently he is working as senior Pastor at Bethel Methodist church with added responsibility as the Director of Youth Ministry at Bangalore Regional Conference.
Rev. Selvan Jeyaraj
Rev. Selvan Jeyaraj has been serving and ministering in the Methodist Church for the last 30 years. He is married to Mrs. Jane Jeyaraj pastoramma, who serves as a teacher in Bishop cotton girls school Bangalore. His elder son, Ashish, works as a software developer in Amadeus, Bangalore and his younger son, Adhishay, works for Amazon in Bangalore.
